ATV Riding in the Ozarks

For an adventure in exploring the Ozarks, several trails are available for ATV 4-Wheelers within a drive of less than an hour to two hours from Jasper.  The Moccasin Gap area of the Ozark National Forest, approximately 40 miles south of Jasper on Scenic 7 Byway, offers trails for most levels of riders.  There are also riding areas in the Cassville and Chadwick areas in southwest Missouri in the Mark Twain National Forest and the Mark Twain National Forest ranger office can be contacted for daily permits.

ATV riding is not allowed on the Buffalo National River Grounds.  For those not traveling with their own 4-wheelers, or those who need a trail guide, a local ATV tour company is available.  Ozark trails are, of course, in uneven terrain and as in any ATV riding, safety equipment and safe riding practices are a must!  This is an exciting and fun way to see and experience the beauty of  this area and to take home some wonderful memories of these spectacular Ozark Mountains.
